Heavy rain with windstorm likely in some areas



KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Weather Forecasting Division has reported that the influence of monsoon winds has remained weak across the country. The monsoon low-pressure line is currently near its average position.

According to the Division, hilly areas across the country are experiencing generally cloudy conditions, while the rest of the country is partly cloudy. Light rain has been recorded in a few places in Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, as well as in isolated areas of Koshi, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces.

This afternoon, skies are expected to remain generally cloudy nationwide. Moderate rain accompanied by lightning is likely in some hilly areas and a few locations in the Terai region.

Heavy rain is also likely in one or two places in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. Additionally, windstorms are expected in the Terai regions of Madhes and Lumbini provinces.

Tonight, generally cloudy conditions will persist across the country. Moderate rain with lightning is likely in some hilly areas, particularly in Koshi and Sudurpaschim provinces, and in a few places across the Terai. Heavy rainfall is also expected in isolated hilly areas of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces.
