Five parliamentary committees meeting today



KATHMANDU: Five parliamentary committees under the Federal Parliament are scheduled to meet on Sunday.

These include the Finance Committee; the Agriculture, Cooperatives and Natural Resources Committee; the Education, Health and Information Technology Committee; the Public Accounts Committee; and the State Directive Principles, Policies and Responsibilities Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Committee.

The meetings will take place between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. in their respective meeting rooms at Singha Durbar.

The Finance Committee will review the recommendations and suggestions submitted by the Commission regarding the budget for the fiscal year 2082/83, and assess whether these inputs have been incorporated into the final budget.

The Agriculture, Cooperatives and Natural Resources Committee will discuss the Commission’s annual budget and programs for fiscal year 2082/83, challenges and problems encountered in fulfilling its constitutional duties, and complaints received by the related committees.

Additionally, the committee will review the amendments made to the Bill-2082, which seeks to revise several Nepal Acts related to land, in consultation with the proposing members of parliament.

The Education, Health and Information Technology Committee will host an interaction program and discussion with experts on the Media Council Bill, 2080.

The Public Accounts Committee will deliberate on the 61st and 62nd annual reports of the Auditor General.

The State Directive Principles, Policies and Responsibilities Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Committee will examine the current work schedule for the ongoing construction of the Federal Parliament Building at Singha Durbar and evaluate the ministry’s preparations for ensuring timely implementation of that schedule.
