Koshi Province Assembly passes Appropriation Bill



BIRATNAGAR: The Koshi Province Assembly has passed the Appropriation and Expenditure Bill for the Fiscal Year 2025/26 with majority support.

The bill, officially titled “Bill on Appropriation and Spending from the Koshi Province Consolidated Fund for Services and Works for Fiscal Year 2082 BS,” was unanimously endorsed by the Assembly. It was designed to implement the province’s economic proposal for the upcoming fiscal year.

Both the economic proposal and the appropriation bill were presented by Finance and Planning Minister Ram Bahadur Magar and were passed following a decision by Speaker Ambar Bahadur Bista.

A proposal seeking budget cuts, put forward by Provincial Assembly members Gombu Sherpa and Khina Lungwa Limbu, was rejected by the majority.

Minister Magar emphasized that the budget was formulated with the needs and aspirations of ordinary citizens in mind, stating, “No one has been left behind in this budget.”
