Energy Minister Khadka meets Chinese NEA Administrator Hongzhi



KATHMANDU: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Dipak Khadka, held a meeting today with Wang Hongzhi, Administrator of China’s National Energy Administration (NEA).

The meeting took place during the energy ministerial meeting of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), held in Ningbo city, Zhejiang Province, China.

On the occasion, Minister Khadka said that the SCO energy ministerial meeting, organized by the Chinese government, has contributed to the development of Nepal’s energy sector. He also extended his congratulations and gratitude to the Chinese government for the successful organization of the event.

According to Sagar Raj Adhikari, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Energy—who also attended the meeting—the two sides discussed a range of topics, including the longstanding friendly relations between Nepal and China, mutual trust, and the need to further strengthen cooperation in the energy sector.

Administrator Hongzhi assured that the Chinese government is committed to providing the necessary technical and financial assistance for the development of Nepal’s energy infrastructure.
