Voting underway to elect new leadership of National Youth Federation Nepal

POKHARA: Voting has begun to elect the new leadership of the National Youth Federation Nepal, the youth wing of the UML, following prolonged efforts to reach a consensus.

The election process officially commenced at 10 am on Tuesday at the Pokhara Assembly Hall after both sides failed to reach an agreement on a unified leadership slate.

Outgoing Chairperson Kshitij Thebe and General Secretary Suman Puri are both contesting for the top position, each leading their own panel of candidates.

A total of 42 electronic voting machines have been set up for the election, with separate voting booths arranged by province to facilitate the process.

From Thebe’s panel, Maharaj Gurung and Binay Shah are contesting for the posts of Vice Chair, while Mahesh Chaulagain is the candidate for General Secretary. On the opposing side, Puri’s panel features Prakash Gautam and Parbat Bhandari as Vice Chair candidates, with Kuber Adhikari vying for the General Secretary position.
