KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has challenged those who accuse him of allowing middlemen access to his bedroom to provide proof of such claims.
In his address at the inauguration of the fourth national conference of the Madan Bhandari Foundation, Prime Minister Oli denounced such allegations, accusing political conspirators of spreading falsehoods.
He remarked that these accusations stem from individuals engaged in deceitful political games.
PM Oli emphasized that the formation of a government with the participation of both the UML and Nepali Congress is crucial for the country.
He asserted that as stability, development, and good governance have gained momentum, false allegations against the government and leadership have also begun to surface.
“These protests are based on lies, as if we’ve done nothing, as if we are ruining the country,” said Prime Minister Oli.
“These days, people are making a lot of noise, but their true form won’t last long. The UML is working to become a decisive national force in the upcoming elections. Our strength lies in our ideas, integrity, and politics of truth.”
Prime Minister Oli’s comments come a week after Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Thapa claimed, “The axis of middlemen is present even in the Prime Minister’s bed.”
Meanwhile, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba remarked that the notion of the government collapsing after his return from Thailand had been refuted, describing the recent developments as a blow to those who propagated such an illusion.
Deuba further stated that the party should focus on analytical awareness and unity, rather than critical awareness, which he believes hinders progress. “We must refute the opposition’s accusations and avoid a path of internal division,” he added.
