Westerly winds impacting weather across Nepal



KATHMANDU: The country is currently under the influence of westerly and local winds, with additional effects from water vapor-rich air entering from the Bay of Bengal, according to the Weather Forecasting Division.

The Division has reported that this afternoon, the weather will remain partly to generally cloudy in the hilly regions, including Koshi and Madhes Provinces, while the rest of the country will experience clear to partly cloudy skies.

There is a possibility of light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in some areas of the hilly regions, including Madhes Province, and in a few locations elsewhere in the country. Light rain and snowfall are also likely in some parts of the mountainous areas.

Tonight, the weather will remain partly to generally cloudy in the hilly regions, including Koshi Province, while the rest of the country will remain clear to partly cloudy.

Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning may occur in some areas of the hilly regions of Gandaki, Koshi, and Madhes Provinces, and in a few locations in the hilly areas of Bagmati and Karnali Provinces.

There is also a possibility of light rain and snowfall in isolated spots across the mountainous areas of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali Provinces.
