KATHMANDU: Rastriya Mukti Party Nepal Chair Rajendra Mahato has announced plans to initiate a movement for a country with a pluralistic national character, challenging what he described as a single-ethnic character among the country’s rulers.
Speaking at a press conference in Kathmandu on Thursday, Mahato disclosed the decisions made at the party’s central working committee meeting, which concluded this week. He highlighted the need for an alternative political force, criticizing the Nepali Congress, UML, and the Maoist Center for leading the country towards failure.
Mahato revealed that the party will form a broad front with like-minded parties and organizations to advance this movement.
He argued that the state is creating divisions among communities by excessively oppressing them instead of addressing underlying issues.
Citing the recent controversy over the Pathibhara cable car construction, Mahato condemned the government’s oppressive approach and called on party members to join the struggle against it.
In addition to political mobilization, the meeting directed all central members to submit their property details to the central office within 15 days.
The party also announced an organization expansion campaign from March 14 to April 28.
