Corporation’s second widebody to fly today, narrowbody flights uncertain

KATHMANDU: Out of the four aircrafts of Nepal Airlines Corporation, three have been facing issues and have been grounded for some time. Among them, one widebody aircraft is now repaired and will be flying on international routes today, while the flight schedule for the other two narrowbody aircrafts remains uncertain, according to the corporation.

According to a press release issued by the corporation on Thursday, the 9N-LZD widebody is currently operating regular flights, and another 9N-ALY, for which the necessary spare parts arrived from the UK today, will be repaired and will fly to Delhi today.

However, the narrowbody 9N-AKW aircraft, which was in China for a 5C check, encountered issues with the customs clearance process, causing delays. The aircraft is expected to arrive in Kathmandu by March 1 and will begin regular flights thereafter, the corporation mentioned in the press release.

Another narrowbody, 9N-AKX, is facing a problem with its nose landing gear, which requires repairs in Delhi. The corporation also mentioned that two smaller Twin Otter aircrafts are facing technical issues and will resume regular flights once repairs are completed, according to the corporation’s spokesperson, Ramesh Paudel.
