World Cup Cricket League-2: Nepal defeated by the United States



KATHMANDU: Nepal faced a 106-run defeat against the United States in the ongoing ICC World Cup Cricket League-2 triangular one-day series.

In the match held today at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Nepal was bowled out for 156 runs in 39.1 overs while chasing a target of 263 set by the USA.

For Nepal, Dipendra Singh Airee top-scored with 40 runs, followed by Aasif Sheikh with 37, Bhim Sharki with 29, Arif Sheikh with 20, and Sompal Kami with 11 runs.

For the USA, Harmeet Singh was the standout bowler, taking six wickets, while Shubham Ranjane claimed two and Rushil Ugarkar picked one wicket.

Earlier, after losing the toss and being invited to bat first, the United States posted 262 runs for the loss of six wickets in the allotted 50 overs.

Smit Patel top-scored for the USA with 75 runs off 100 balls, including nine fours. Milind Kumar remained unbeaten on 70 runs from 50 balls, hitting six fours and two sixes. Saiteja Mukkamalla added 42 runs, and Shubham Ranjane contributed 19.

For Nepal, Sandeep Lamichhane took two wickets, while Sompal Kami, Arif Sheikh, and Dipendra Singh Airee each took one wicket.

With this victory, the USA climbed to the top of the points table with 30 points from 21 matches, while Nepal, with 12 points from 17 matches, stands in seventh position.
