World Cup League-2: Nepal to face USA today



KATHMANDU: Nepal will take on the United States today in the opening match of the UAE leg of the ICC World Cup Cricket League-2. The match is scheduled to start at 11:15 am on Sunday.

The Nepali national cricket team, which arrived in the UAE a few days ago, is set to play an important League-2 encounter.

Under the captaincy of Rohit Poudel, Nepal will face both the USA and UAE in this series. Ahead of the series, the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) made squad changes, replacing Sandeep Jora, Lokesh Bam, and Adil Alam with Bhim Sarki, Shahab Alam, and Anil Sah.

The UAE leg of League-2 will run from Sunday to Wednesday. Nepal will kick off the series against the USA today, followed by a match against UAE on Thursday. Nepal’s third match will be against the United States on Saturday, and the series concludes with Nepal facing UAE on Wednesday.

In the League-2 standings, Nepal has played 12 matches and collected 16 points, placing seventh on the table. UAE, with the same number of matches, has 6 points and is in eighth place. The United States, having played 20 matches, is in second place with 28 points.
