Home Minister Aryal vows to reopen politically shelved investigation files

KATHMANDU: Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal has stated that all investigation files previously halted due to political interference will now be reopened.

Speaking to journalists following an inspection of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police, Minister Aryal emphasized the government’s commitment to good governance, peace, and security—especially in the lead-up to upcoming elections.

“All files that were stopped or disrupted due to political connections will now move forward,” he stated. “This will not be allowed to continue.”

He further added, “The mandate of this government is to ensure good governance. Without good governance, there can be no peace and security—and without peace and security, elections cannot be conducted within six months.”

Minister Aryal also visited the CIB office in Maharajgunj, which was damaged during the Gen-Z protest on September 9. During the visit, he reaffirmed his commitment to unblocking investigations previously stalled.

“I have instructed the concerned authorities to remove obstacles in all pending investigations, including those related to criminal cases, economic crimes, financial offenses, and corruption,” he said.
