Kathmandu Marathon 2025 set for November 1

KATHMANDU: The much-anticipated Kathmandu Marathon 2025 is scheduled to take place on November 1 with the theme “Run for Heritage, Run for Health.”

Organized by NRS Sports Foundation, the annual marathon aims to bring together people from all walks of life onto a single platform, promoting fitness, discipline, and unity through sports.

According to the organizers, the event is not just a race but also a campaign to inspire healthy lifestyles and highlight the importance of cultural preservation. Participants will include school students, professional athletes, teachers, bankers, businesspersons, restaurant workers, corporate executives, and even families with young children.

This year’s edition introduces a Masters’ Class category for participants above 40, with separate divisions for 40+, 50+, and 60+ age groups. Other categories include a 3 km School Run, a 3 km Open Run, a 5 km Open Run, a 10 km Open Run, and special group runs for corporate and organizational teams.

So far, over 1,000 participants have already registered, and the organizers said registrations remain open.

“The Kathmandu Marathon is more than just a competition. It’s a celebration of health, heritage, and community spirit,” the Foundation stated.
