KATHMANDU: Vice President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Vo Thi Anh Xuan, returned home at midnight after completing her three-day official visit to Nepal. The visit was made at the friendly invitation of Nepal’s Vice President, Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav.
Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, and Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai bid farewell to Vice President Xuan at the VIP lounge of Tribhuvan International Airport.
Senior government officials, representatives from security agencies, and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion. Vice President Xuan was given a guard of honor by the Nepali Army as part of the farewell ceremony.
During her visit, Vice President Xuan paid a courtesy call on President Ram Chandra Paudel. She also held delegation-level talks with Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav, and met with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba.
This visit marks the first high-level official visit to Nepal from Vietnam and holds special significance, as this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
