Light to moderate rain expected in four provinces



KATHMANDU: The influence of monsoon winds remains weak across the country. According to the Weather Forecasting Division, the monsoon low-pressure line is currently near its average position.

At present, hilly areas across the country are generally cloudy. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces.

This afternoon, the hilly regions are expected to remain mostly cloudy, while the rest of the country will see partly cloudy skies. Light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely in some areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as in a few places in other hilly regions and the rest of the country.

In addition, windstorms are likely in parts of the Terai regions of Koshi and Madhesh provinces.

The Division forecasts generally cloudy conditions in the hilly areas of Koshi Province and partly cloudy skies elsewhere. Light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning is expected in some areas of the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and in a few other locations across the country.

The Division has advised the public and all concerned authorities to stay updated with the latest weather information, as there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in isolated areas of the Terai in Koshi Province and the hilly regions of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.
