Road to Hetauda from Kathmandu in dire condition

KATHMANDU: The road connecting Kathmandu, the federal capital, to Hetauda, the capital of Bagmati Province, is currently in a deteriorated state, especially along the Pharping–Humane section, where multiple sections have been damaged.

Ongoing repairs have further slowed traffic along the route.

While the stretch from Humane to Fakhel has recently been blacktopped, paving preparations are still underway on the section below Fakhel. Motorists face particular difficulty at Mahalaxmi Khola, where a bridge is under construction, making the area extremely muddy and challenging to cross.

Beyond that point, some segments are in the process of being concreted or graveled. Though the Kulekhani to Hetauda stretch is in relatively good condition, the earlier sections between Pharping and Humane remain troublesome for commuters due to uneven surfaces and ongoing construction activities.

Authorities have not provided a clear timeline for the completion of repairs, leaving travelers to navigate through difficult and dusty—or muddy—conditions depending on the weather.
