KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank has published the official foreign currency exchange rates for today (Thursday), showing an increase in the value of all major foreign currencies, including the US dollar, Australian dollar, euro, pound sterling, Kuwaiti dinar, and Bahraini dinar.
The euro, pound, and Australian dollar—whose rates had already risen yesterday—have continued to increase today as well.
According to the central bank, the buying rate of one US dollar today is NPR 137.43, while the selling rate is NPR 138.03. Yesterday, the buying rate was NPR 137.27 and the selling rate was NPR 137.87.
Similarly, the buying rate of one euro today is NPR 159.49, and the selling rate is NPR 160.18. This is slightly higher than yesterday’s rates, which were NPR 159.36 for buying and NPR 160.05 for selling.
The pound sterling is also up today, with both the buying and selling rates fixed at NPR 187.00. Yesterday, the buying rate was NPR 186.91 and the selling rate was NPR 187.73.
The Australian dollar has seen a slight decrease today, with the buying rate at NPR 89.27 and the selling rate at NPR 89.66. This is down from yesterday’s buying rate of NPR 89.40 and selling rate of NPR 89.79.
Today’s buying rate for the Kuwaiti dinar stands at NPR 449.34, with the selling rate at NPR 451.30. Yesterday, these rates were NPR 448.96 and NPR 450.92, respectively.
Likewise, the buying rate for the Bahraini dinar is NPR 364.30 and the selling rate is NPR 365.98. Yesterday, the buying rate was NPR 364.01 and the selling rate was NPR 365.00.
Nepal Rastra Bank has stated that these exchange rates may be revised at any time as needed. It also clarified that commercial banks may set slightly different exchange rates, and the most up-to-date information is available on the central bank’s official website.
