Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak not involved in ‘visit visa’ scandal: Nepali Congress

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress has concluded that Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has no involvement in the recent ‘visit visa’ scandal.

The decision was made during a meeting of party office bearers held on Monday at party president Sher Bahadur Deuba’s residence in Budhanilkantha.

Following the meeting, party spokesperson Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat stated, “We are confident that he (Lekhak) is innocent. There is no involvement of the Home Minister in the visit visa case.”

The party concluded that there is no evidence linking Lekhak to the alleged irregularities and therefore, he should not resign from his ministerial position.
