Bharatpur Hospital tops national rankings in minimum service standards

BHARATPUR: The Bharatpur Hospital in Chitwan has secured the top position among federal hospitals in the country in the monitoring and evaluation of the Minimum Service Standards (MSS) Program.

The hospital achieved first place in an evaluation conducted by the Ministry of Health and Population, scoring 88 percent — the highest among 15 federal hospitals assessed nationwide.

According to hospital officials, Bharatpur Hospital has been awarded the prestigious ‘Green Zone’ sticker, which is given to hospitals scoring above 85 percent.

Medical Superintendent Prof. Dr. Krishna Prasad Poudel stated that Bharatpur is the only hospital in the country to receive this recognition in the current evaluation cycle.

The MSS Program evaluates hospitals annually based on criteria such as governance and management, medical services, and waste management. The recent assessment was carried out by a team led by Ministry Spokesperson Dr. Prakash Budhathoki.

Dr. Poudel said the hospital is committed to delivering quality healthcare services. “Our entire team is working tirelessly to enhance service quality. These results reflect that commitment,” he noted.
