Four dead in Arghakhanchi bus accident



ARGHAKHANCHI: At least four people were killed and many others injured in a bus accident at Bhuwanpata of Shitaganga Municipality-2 in Arghakhanchi district this evening.

Police Inspector of District Police Office, Bishnu Prasad Paudel, said three people died on the spot after a bus (Lu 2 Kha 303) met an accident.

According to police, the bus, which was returning from Supadeurali, met with an accident on Wednesday evening.

The vehicle, registered as Lu 2 Kha 303, was returning to Nawalparasi after a pilgrimage when it crashed along the Gorusinge-Sandhikharka road section in Sitganga Municipality-2, Bhuvanpata.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Shyam Bahadur Khatri from the Highway Safety and Traffic Management Office in Butwal confirmed the fatalities, stating that the deceased included three women and one man.

The male victim was the bus driver, while the identities of the other three are yet to be confirmed.

According to SP Khatri, the bus lost control and plunged about 30 meters off the road. The accident occurred at around 5:45 PM, leaving approximately 27 passengers injured.

Police said that  injured ones have been sent to Lubmibi Provincial Hospital and  a primary health care center.
