UML to vote for ‘Eye’ symbol in Prachanda and Janardan’s constituencies



KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML and the Pragatisheel Loktantrik Party led by Janardan Sharma have reached an electoral alliance for the upcoming House of Representatives election.

According to the agreement reached on Sunday, the CPN-UML will vote for the ‘Eye’ election symbol in favour of Pragatisheel Loktantrik Party candidates Janardan Sharma in West Rukum and Sandip Pun in East Rukum. In East Rukum, Sandip Pun is contesting against Nepal Communist Party chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.

Similarly, the Pragatisheel Loktantrik Party has agreed to vote for the ‘Sun’ symbol in support of CPN-UML candidates in all districts of Karnali Province except Humla and Jumla, as well as in the districts of the former Rapti Zone.

Both parties have also agreed to immediately issue instructions to their respective party ranks to ensure effective implementation of the agreement.

The agreement was signed by CPN-UML Vice-Chair Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’ and Pragatisheel Loktantrik Party Chair Durga Sob on behalf of their respective parties.
