KATHMANDU: The Socialist Front has warned against any attempts to weaken its planned public demonstration on March 28.

During a meeting at the CPN (Unified Socialist) office in Aloknagar, leaders has expressed concerns that efforts were being made to obstruct the pro-republic demonstration. The front has cautioned against any such moves.

Following the meeting, CPN spokesperson Khadga Bahadur Bishwakarma issued a strong statement, warning that any attempt to disrupt the demonstration would be a foolish act.

On March 28, the Socialist Front is set to hold a demonstration at Bhrikutimandap, while pro-monarchy groups plan to rally at Tinkune.

Bishwakarma has called for mass participation, stressing that the protest is in defense of national sovereignty.

He stated that thousands are expected to join, with processions from areas like Koteshwar, Kupandol, and Kalimati converging at Bhrikutimandap for a mass gathering.

The meeting also discussed the ongoing parliamentary deadlock. Bishwakarma reiterated that the front remains firm in its stance: parliament will not resume unless Prime Minister KP Oli provides a satisfactory explanation for the removal of Nepal Electricity Authority’s Managing Director Kulman Ghising.
