Parliament won’t resume until PM provides satisfactory response on Kulman: Prachanda

KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Centre) Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has stated that the House of Representatives will not function until Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli provides a satisfactory response regarding the dismissal of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Managing Director Kulman Ghising.

Speaking to journalists at the parliament building on Wednesday, Prachanda stressed that the opposition’s concerns must be taken seriously by the Prime Minister.

He warned that if Oli’s clarification is not convincing, protests will escalate.

Prachanda also revealed that during his recent discussion with the Prime Minister on transitional justice, the issue of Ghising’s removal was not raised.

However, he accused Oli of acting deceitfully by making the decision on Ghising’s dismissal immediately after their meeting.

Expressing disappointment over speculation that transitional justice negotiations were linked to Ghising’s removal, Prachanda urged the media to present the facts accurately.
