Curfew imposed in Kamalamai municipality, Sindhuli

SINDHULI: The District Administration Office of Sindhuli has imposed a curfew in Kamalamai Municipality following escalating tensions in the area.

The curfew will be in effect from 8:30 pm on Thursday until 6:00 am on Friday, covering Kamalamai Municipality-4, bounded by Gwang Khola in the east, Madan Bhandari Highway in the west, Kumal Phant in the north, and Dhurabazar Chowk in the south.

The administration reported that following an incident in Dhurabazar on Poush 6, stone-throwing, mob clashes, and other undesirable activities have increased, posing a serious threat to peace and security in the district. Chief District Officer Skim Shrestha said the curfew was issued to control the situation.

During the curfew, all general movement of people and vehicles is prohibited except for essential services. The administration has also directed that no gatherings, rallies, protests, or assemblies of more than five people are allowed.
