80 parties register at Election Commission for upcoming House polls



KATHMANDU: A total of 80 political parties have registered with the Election Commission for the upcoming House of Representatives elections scheduled for March 5, 2026.

According to Commission spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, 80 out of the 134 registered parties had completed their registration for election purposes as of Tuesday evening.

He said 16 parties registered on Tuesday alone, adding that the number is expected to rise as the deadline for party registration remains open until Wednesday.
