Wild tusker tramples woman to death in Kanchanpur



KATHMANDU: A woman was killed after being attacked by a wild tusker at Syaule in Bhimdutta Municipality-14, Kanchanpur, on Monday morning.

According to DSP Sagar Bohara of the District Police Office, 45-year-old Dhana Bista died after sustaining critical injuries when a wild elephant from Shuklaphanta National Park entered the settlement and destroyed her house.

Bista was attacked while trying to flee from the collapsing structure. She died during treatment at Mahakali Provincial Hospital.

Authorities said a Nepali Army team deployed at Shuklaphanta National Park and a police unit from a nearby station have been mobilized to manage the situation after the elephant caused panic in the area.
