PM Karki assures full security for Hyatt Regency Hotel operations

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has assured that the government is fully committed to providing security for the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Kathmandu, which had temporarily suspended operations following the Gen Z movement.

Expressing concern over the hotel’s temporary closure, Prime Minister Karki said the government would guarantee the safety of its operations and staff.

Following the Prime Minister’s concern, Finance Minister Rameshwor Khanal held discussions with the hotel’s management on Saturday morning, according to the Prime Minister’s private secretariat.

“The Prime Minister has expressed concern regarding the closure of Hyatt Hotel and restrictions placed on staff entry,” the secretariat stated. “In response, Finance Minister Khanal assured that the government is ready to provide full security and urged the management to resume services without hesitation.”

During the discussion, Minister Khanal reportedly told hotel representatives, “There is no need to panic. Continue your services with confidence. The government stands with you and will arrange adequate security. Please proceed without fear and keep your business running.”

According to the Prime Minister’s secretariat, the government is also preparing to hold further talks with the hotel management on Sunday to ensure smooth resumption of operations.
