CHITWAN: Traffic along the Narayangadh–Muglin road section is expected to resume tonight after authorities cleared most of the landslide debris near Twin Khola bridge in Ichchhakamana-5, Chitwan.
According to the Chitwan Road Division, six heavy machines, including excavators and loaders, are working simultaneously at the narrow landslide site. To speed up operations, lights have been installed to allow work to continue through the night. Officials aim to reopen the highway to vehicles from both Narayangadh and Muglin sides by 9 p.m.
Progress had initially been slower than expected due to large boulders and sharp rocks, which increased risks of tire punctures and injuries to operators. Despite the challenges, operators have been working around the clock, enabling the debris to be cleared sooner than anticipated.
Once reopened, the vital road link is expected to ease traffic disruptions in the busy corridor connecting Kathmandu with western Nepal.
