One dead in elephant attack in Jhapa



JHAPA: One person has died after being attacked by a wild elephant in Khalbadi, Birtamod Municipality-7, Jhapa, last night.

A man of around 36 years of age, whose identity is not yet known, died in the incident, said the District Police Office spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police Khagendra Bahadur Khadka.

The police said that the locals saw the man’s body at 6:20 am and informed them.

After receiving information about the incident, a police team was deployed from the Area Police Office, Anarmani, for further investigation and legal proceedings, the District Police Office, Jhapa said.
