Nepal Rastra Bank revises foreign exchange rates for Wednesday



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has released the official foreign currency exchange rates for Wednesday, reflecting mixed trends across major currencies.

The value of several foreign currencies, including the US dollar, Kuwaiti dinar, and Bahraini dinar, has declined compared to previous rates. In contrast, the euro, British pound, and Australian dollar have appreciated.

According to NRB, the buying rate for one US dollar today is NPR 137.27, while the selling rate is NPR 137.87. This marks a drop from Tuesday’s rates of NPR 138.51 (buying) and NPR 139.11 (selling).

Today, the euro is being traded at NPR 159.36 (buying) and NPR 160.05 (selling), up from Tuesday’s NPR 158.79 and NPR 159.48, respectively.

Similarly, the British pound rose to NPR 186.91 (buying) and NPR 187.73 (selling), compared to NPR 185.29 and NPR 186.09 on the previous day.

The Australian dollar also appreciated, with today’s rates set at NPR 89.40 (buying) and NPR 89.79 (selling), up from Tuesday’s NPR 88.38 and NPR 88.75.

In contrast, the Kuwaiti dinar declined to NPR 448.96 (buying) and NPR 450.92 (selling), down from NPR 452.06 and NPR 454.02 the day before.

Likewise, the Bahraini dinar dropped to NPR 364.01 (buying) and NPR 365.61 (selling), compared to Tuesday’s NPR 369.11 and NPR 368.70.

The central bank has noted that these rates are subject to revision as necessary. It also clarified that the exchange rates set by commercial banks may vary and advised checking the NRB website for the latest updates.
