PM Oli: Treating individuals as institutions is a feudal mindset

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has criticized the tendency to treat individuals as institutions, calling it a feudal mindset.

Speaking at the launch of Nepali Congress leader Sujata Koirala’s autobiography ‘Ma Ra Mero Sanobuwa’ on the 15th memorial day of former Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala, PM Oli stressed that no single person or family should be seen as an institution.

“The country was built through the struggles of all Nepalis, not by a single individual. Someone may have played a leadership role, but that doesn’t mean they alone created the nation,” he said. “The modern era cannot go back to such illusions.”

He stressed that while people may have different opinions, the common goal should be the nation’s development.

“Everyone must work with honesty for the welfare of the country and its people,” he added.

PM Oli also noted that the autobiography provides valuable insights into the lives of Girija Prasad Koirala and Sujata Koirala.
