KATHMANDU: The government has officially confirmed the dismissal of Nepal Electricity Authority’s Managing Director Kulman Ghising.

Announcing the decisions of Monday’s Cabinet meeting, Minister for Communication and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung stated that Ghising had been removed from his position.

“The Cabinet has decided to remove Kulman Ghising as the Managing Director of Nepal Electricity Authority and appoint Hitendra Dev Shakya of Lalitpur in his place,” Minister Gurung said.

Earlier on Monday evening, while providing a brief update on the meeting’s decisions, Minister Gurung had avoided answering questions about Ghising’s removal, claiming he was unaware of the leaked information.
