Training for professors to integrate IT in teaching methods



KATHMANDU: To enhance teaching methodologies and research capacity while integrating information technology, the Office of the Dean of the Institute of Forestry Studies at Tribhuvan University has conducted a 10-day training program for 24 professors.

The training, part of the Higher Education Reform Program and supported by the University Grants Commission, was held online.

Dr Thakur Silwal, Dean of the Institute, explained that the program involved professors from Hetauda, Pokhara, and Kathmandu campuses under the Institute of Forestry, aiming to bridge the curriculum with market demands, modernize teaching through technology, and improve learning management systems.

Key sessions of the training focused on yoga for self-realization, aligning the curriculum with market demands, incorporating technology into education, innovative teaching methods, enhancing learning management systems, and research and publication strategies.

Dr Silwal expressed confidence that the program would contribute to enhancing both teaching quality and research capacity. Dr Soni Baral, Assistant Dean, who coordinated the event, emphasized that the training would significantly bolster the academic capabilities of the participants.
