Prisoner who escaped from Chitwan arrested in Jhapa



JHAPA: A prisoner who had fled from Chitwan during the Gen-Z movement has been arrested in Jhapa.

According to District Police Office spokesperson Khagendra Bahadur Khadka, the detainee has been identified as 29-year-old Ashish Subba of Shivasatakshi Municipality–8.

Subba, who had been serving time in Chitwan Prison on charges of abducting a man, was captured from his residence on Sunday during a police search operation.

Police said he had been hiding at his own home after escaping from custody. Following his arrest, Subba was held at the Area Police Office in Jhiljhile and will now be transferred back to Chitwan Prison.
