JSP to recall two ministers, name replacements

KATHMANDU: The Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) led by Ashok Rai, has decided to recall two of its ministers currently serving in the federal government and appoint new ones in their place.

According to a party leader, Minister for Drinking Water Pradeep Yadav and Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens Nawal Kishor Sah Sudi will be recalled. The party plans to send Birendra Mahato and Ranju Thakur as their replacements, respectively.

“The ministers were initially appointed for a one-year term. Based on that understanding, the party has now decided to recall them and send new representatives,” the official said. “Chairman Ashok Rai has already submitted the new names to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.”

The exact timing for the Cabinet reshuffle remains uncertain, with the leader stating, “It is not yet confirmed when the Prime Minister will reorganize the Council of Ministers.”

Party sources also confirmed that Chairman Rai has instructed both current ministers to step down. The decision was discussed during the JSP’s party officials’ meeting held on Saturday.
