Woman’s body found inside suitcase in Rautahat

RAUTAHAT: A woman’s body was found inside a suitcase abandoned on the roadside near Mudwalwa Gate in Ward No. 9 of Gaur Municipality.

The suitcase, tied with rope, was spotted lying by the road. Upon being alerted, a team led by DSP Rajan Karki from the Rautahat District Police Office opened the suitcase on Sunday morning and found the body of a woman, estimated to be around 30 years old.

DSP Karki confirmed that the woman’s body was stuffed inside the suitcase. Her identity has yet to be established.

The body has been sent to the Provincial Hospital in Gaur for post-mortem examination. Police have begun reviewing CCTV footage from a nearby school as part of the investigation.

This marks the third body discovered in Rautahat within a week. Earlier, Upendra Bhagat of Saptari was found dead inside Nepal Lodge, and Sahabuddin Miya was fatally stabbed in Gaur-5. The latest discovery adds to growing concern over recent violent incidents in the district. Police say further investigation is ongoing.
