Heavy rainfall expected in Bagmati and Karnali today



KATHMANDU: Heavy rainfall is likely at one or two locations in the hilly areas of Bagmati and Karnali Provinces today, according to the Weather Forecasting Division.

Moderate rainfall is also expected in parts of Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim Provinces, including some areas of the Tarai region.

The weather will remain generally cloudy across the country throughout the day. Strong winds are also possible in Madhesh Province and the Tarai regions of Koshi and Lumbini Provinces.

Tonight, skies will remain mostly cloudy in Koshi and Madhesh Provinces, as well as the hilly regions, while other areas will see partly cloudy conditions.

Moderate rainfall is likely in some areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces, including the remaining hilly regions and a few spots in the Tarai. Additionally, one or two areas in the hilly region of Gandaki Province may experience heavy rainfall.

Meteorological analysis indicates that the monsoon low-pressure system remains near its normal position, with continued influence of moisture-laden air from the Bay of Bengal.
