TIA expansion gains pace, 60% of taxiway construction completed

KATHMANDU: The only running international airport in Nepal operating at full capacity, Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), is undergoing rapid expansion, with 60 percent of the new taxiway already completed, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN).

To update the public and press on the progress of the airport’s upgradation, CAAN organized a site visit for media on Thursday.

Officials said the expansion work is progressing on schedule and will help ease growing congestion at the country’s primary air gateway.
