Woman dies of snakebite in Saptari



SAPTARI: A 50-year-old woman died of a snakebite in Mohanpur, Krishnasawaran Rural Municipality-6, on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Sangita Rai, wife of Indra Bahadur Rai, a local resident, according to Madhav Prasad Kafle, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the Area Police Office, Kanchanpur.

Authorities say the number of venomous snakes in the Terai region has risen sharply due to extreme heat.
