Tehran dismisses Trump’s ceasefire claim amid ongoing Israeli assaults

TEHRAN: Iran has rejected any immediate ceasefire agreement with Israel, stating that it will only consider halting its military response if Israel ends its aggression.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said no formal ceasefire has been agreed upon yet, contradicting earlier claims made by former U.S. President Donald Trump.

“If the Israeli regime stops its illegal attacks on the Iranian people by 4 AM Tehran time, we have no intention of continuing our military operations,” Araghchi stated, adding that Iran’s response is conditional.

Despite Trump’s announcement that a ceasefire would be implemented within 24 hours, the situation on the ground remains tense.

Explosions were reported across Tehran, including in western and central districts and the suburb of Karaj. Iranian air defense systems have been activated in response to ongoing Israeli aerial assaults.

Meanwhile, Iran confirmed two explosions at the Balad military base in Iraq, located 100 km north of Baghdad, though no casualties have been reported.

Iranian leaders remain firm in their stance against what they call “imposed peace.” Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei recently reiterated that Iran would not accept any ceasefire that compromises its sovereignty.

As of now, Tehran has not officially responded to Trump’s statement, while Israeli airstrikes continue unabated.
