Heavy rain expected in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki today



KATHMANDU: Monsoon winds are currently affecting Nepal, bringing cloudy skies and rain to several regions.

According to the Weather Forecasting Division, this afternoon Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, along with the country’s hilly areas, will experience generally cloudy weather, while the rest of the country will remain partly cloudy.

There is a chance of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in some parts of Koshi and Bagmati provinces and scattered areas in other provinces. Heavy rain is expected in one or two locations within Koshi and Bagmati.

In the high hills and mountainous areas of Koshi and Bagmati provinces, as well as one or two places in other mountainous regions, light to moderate rain and snowfall are possible.

Tonight, skies will remain generally cloudy over Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, including other hilly areas, with partly cloudy conditions elsewhere.

Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely in some places across Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as scattered areas in other provinces. One or two places in these provinces may also experience heavy to very heavy rainfall.
