UML observing ‘Youth Festival’ today, expects participation of 100,000 youths



KATHMANDU: The ruling CPN-UML is set to organize a large-scale Youth Festival in Kathmandu today, marking Democracy Day (Loktantra Diwas) with a major gathering at Bhrikutimandap starting from 1 PM.

According to Youth Association President Kshitij Thebe, UML Chairperson and Prime Minister KP Oli, along with General Secretary Shankar Pokharel, will deliver brief congratulatory remarks during the event. All other speakers will be young leaders and party members.

Among those scheduled to speak are House of Representatives member Suhang Nembang, Kathmandu Metropolitan City Deputy Mayor Sunita Dangol, and youth leaders Ananda Singh, Bishnu Pokharel, Ashwini Shekh, Shiva Kumari Chaudhary, Bishal Pun, and Sharmila Bhandari, among others.

The event will feature youth under the age of 40 sharing their perspectives on contemporary issues, along with various cultural performances.

The UML estimates that around 100,000 youth from across the country will take part in the celebration.
