House of Representatives meeting today to discuss key bills and public concerns



KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives under the federal parliament is scheduled to meet today at 1 pm at the Parliament Building in New Baneshwor.

The session will cover several significant agendas, including the presentation of annual reports, consideration of legislative bills, and discussions on pressing public issues.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is set to present the ’34th Annual Report of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority, FY 2023-24′ on behalf of the government.

Additionally, Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak will propose the ‘Armed Police Force, Nepal Bill, 2025′ for consideration. The bill aims to enhance the operational capacity and organizational structure of the Armed Police Force in Nepal.

The session will also address public concerns through motions of public importance where MP Sher Bahadur Kunwar will draw the attention of Health and Population Minister Pradeep Poudel to the ongoing issue faced by the poor and marginalized citizens of Sudurpaschim and Karnali Provinces.

He said these communities are being deprived of essential medical services due to a lack of grant funds from both federal and provincial governments. Kunwar is expected to urge the continuation of these healthcare services.

MP Rajendra Bajgain will present a motion of urgent public importance concerning the increasing threat of monkeys and wild boars in rural areas. He said the wildlife menace has severely impacted farmers’ crops and their safety. Bajgain will advocate for comprehensive policies to ensure agricultural security, wildlife management, and environmental balance.

Today’s parliamentary session is expected to generate significant discussions as lawmakers deliberate on these critical issues impacting national governance and public welfare.
