FOREX: Euro and Pound decline slightly as US dollar holds steady



KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank has announced today’s foreign exchange rates, showing a slight decline in the European Euro and the British Pound Sterling, while the US dollar remains stable.

According to the central bank, the buying rate of one US dollar has been fixed at Rs 140.39 and the selling rate at Rs 140.99. The buying rate of one European Euro stands at Rs 162.68 and the selling rate at Rs 163.83, while the buying and selling rates for one UK Pound Sterling are Rs 186.91 and Rs 187.71 respectively. Similarly, one Swiss Franc is being bought at Rs 176.14 and sold at Rs 176.89.

Among other major currencies, the Australian dollar is being bought at Rs 91.15 and sold at Rs 91.54, the Canadian dollar at Rs 100.14 and Rs 100.57, and the Singapore dollar at Rs 108.08 and Rs 108.55. The buying and selling rates for 10 Japanese yen are Rs 9.25 and Rs 9.29 respectively, while one Chinese yuan trades at Rs 19.70 for buying and Rs 19.79 for selling.

The Saudi Arabian riyal is valued at Rs 37.43 for buying and Rs 37.59 for selling, and the Qatari riyal at Rs 38.52 and Rs 38.68 respectively. One Thai baht is being bought at Rs 4.27 and sold at Rs 4.29, while the UAE dirham is trading at Rs 38.22 for buying and Rs 38.39 for selling.

Similarly, the Malaysian ringgit stands at Rs 33.19 for buying and Rs 33.33 for selling, the South Korean won at Rs 9.81 and Rs 9.85, the Swedish kronor at Rs 14.88 and Rs 14.94, and the Danish kronor at Rs 21.78 and Rs 21.87.

The buying and selling rates for one Hong Kong dollar are Rs 18.07 and Rs 18.15 respectively. The Kuwaiti dinar is being traded at Rs 457.88 for buying and Rs 459.83 for selling, the Bahraini dinar at Rs 372.41, and the Omani rial at Rs 364.64 for buying and Rs 366.19 for selling. The exchange rate for 100 Indian rupees has been fixed at Rs 160 for buying and Rs 160.15 for selling.

Nepal Rastra Bank has noted that these rates are subject to change as necessary. It also stated that commercial banks may offer slightly different rates, and the latest updates are available on the central bank’s official website.
