KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Gururaj Ghimire, along with other general convention delegates, has launched a signature campaign within the party demanding a special general convention.
Condemning the recent attack on party president Sher Bahadur Deuba during the Gen-Z movement, the delegates argue that a special convention is essential to acknowledge past mistakes and steer the party toward reform.
While the responsibility to call such a convention lies with the central committee, the delegates claim they are compelled to act due to the committee’s inaction.
They have also called on fellow members to join the initiative under Article 17(2) of the party statute, expressing a shared responsibility to rescue the party from its current crisis and restore its effectiveness.
