PM Oli assures Parliament of government’s commitment to concluding transitional justice process

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the government is committed and sensitive toward concluding the transitional justice process in a way that ensures justice for victims.

Responding to lawmakers’ questions during Wednesday’s session of the House of Representatives, Prime Minister Oli stated that completing the remaining tasks related to transitional justice and bringing the peace process to a conclusion remains a high priority for the government.

He emphasized that, as mandated by the constitution, the government is firm in its commitment to honoring the contributions and sacrifices of martyrs, the disappeared, and conflict victims, and is working to conclude the peace process as swiftly as possible.

“The government is highly responsible and sensitive when it comes to delivering justice to victims. We are in continuous dialogue with conflict victims at various levels,” Prime Minister Oli said. “The peace process is a matter of concern for all. In accordance with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Act, 2014, the commissions have already been formed and begun their work. I believe that in the coming days, the commission officials will move forward by consulting with the victims and holding internal discussions to complete the remaining tasks of the peace process.”
