Two parliamentary committees, including Finance, holding meetings today



KATHMANDU: Two committees under the Federal Parliament are meeting today: the Finance Committee and the State Directive Principles, Policies, and Responsibilities Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Committee.

The Finance Committee will convene at 9 a.m. in the committee meeting room at Singha Durbar. The agenda includes discussing an application submitted by the Nepal Gold and Silver Entrepreneurs Federation concerning the tax imposed on gold, silver, and jewelry through the Economic Bill.

Additionally, there will be internal discussions on the proposed amendments to the Banking and Financial Institutions Act, 2073.

Meanwhile, the State Directive Principles, Policies, and Responsibilities Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Committee will meet at 8 a.m. at Singha Durbar.

The agenda includes reviewing the draft of the committee’s annual report for 2082, discussing the report from their recent on-site monitoring visit, and addressing current issues.
