Monsoon winds affecting weather across Nepal



KATHMANDU: Monsoon conditions have begun to influence weather patterns across Nepal, with varying degrees of cloud cover and rainfall reported in different provinces, according to the Weather Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

According to the Division, skies are generally cloudy in Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Sudurpaschim provinces, while the remaining provinces are experiencing partly cloudy conditions.

Light rainfall is occurring in some areas of Koshi and in isolated locations in Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.

The weather is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy across the country this afternoon. There is a likelihood of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in several hilly areas, particularly in Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, as well as in some other parts of the country.

Heavy rainfall is also possible in one or two areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. In addition, light rain and snowfall are likely in a few high hilly and mountainous regions, according to the Division.
