KATHMANDU: The hearing on a habeas corpus petition concerning Rastriya Swatantra Party Chair Rabi Lamichhane, currently in custody at Bhairahawa prison in connection with the Supreme Cooperative savings embezzlement case, has concluded.

The hearing, which had been pending since Tuesday, was completed on Friday before a joint bench of Justices Nahakul Subedi and Balkrishna Dhakal at the Supreme Court. A final verdict is now awaited following the conclusion of arguments.

On Friday, lawyers representing the complainants, who had filed a case against Lamichhane and his business associate and former DIG Chhabilal Joshi of Gorkha Media Network, presented their arguments.

Senior advocates Surendra Bhandari and Dinesh Tripathi, along with advocate Ramchandra RC Gautam, argued on behalf of the petitioners.
