Industries to get cheaper electricity in rainy season under new economic plan

KATHMANDU: The government has proposed providing electricity to industrialists at concessional rates during periods of high power generation.

This plan is outlined in the Economic Reform Action Plan, 2025, which the government has approved.

According to the plan, the concessional electricity rate will be implemented during the rainy season when electricity production is abundant.

The action plan aims to put this measure into effect within one year, making it likely to be introduced starting this rainy season.

The approved plan states, “Provide electricity to industrialists at concessional rates during periods of high electricity production.”
